As my 2 year old throws another toy on the floor suddenly he twists his head as he gets distracted; his eyes widen as they meet the massive trees filling the view of the windows. “I don’t know, I think we’re lost” my wife anxiously muttered as she white knuckles the wheel on the bumpy gravel drive. I popped my whole body around and exclaimed “We’re going somewhere no one knows about. A hidden place. The Secret Land!” That little car ride became an important day as we made our way nervously down the overgrown ½ mile driveway with keys in hand in December 2022. We decided shortly after moving onto the 30-acre riverfront property that we had to share it with others! Hello there! I'm Jewel. My wife and I are the owners of the farm we lovingly call The Secret Land. ⚡ From hoarded mess to lively farm… This property was a hidden gem for over 100 years and as the new caretakers of the land, it was up to us to make it come to life! We started with a massive clean-up of hoarded belongings left on one side of the property and a demolition process of outbuildings that month and hauled away tons of trash, cars, boats, buildings, and SO much more. On the riverfront side of the property hand cutting trails, limbing thousands of trees, and slowly, painstakingly in the February snow building an intentional space for guests to enjoy. We drove nails into reclaimed lumber, we shed blood with many injuries, and we doubted if it was possible. We made mistake after mistake and believed that if we just got up in the morning and did what was in front of us, we could welcome just one person to enjoy a still moment by the river, with campfire warming their boots, to sit and just be. ⚡ Starting Our Farm… We began agroforestry farming as we reclaimed our land. Our primary crops are wildflowers, native plants, mushrooms, and wild berries. We also produce fresh farm eggs with browns, blues, and green color–it’s our specialty. We sell our goods produced on the land in our farm stand. In 2025, we’ve planted over 200,000 wildflowers, thousands of mushrooms, and we’ll be starting our garden and greenhouse as we begin producing fresh herbs, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Our animals and our forest are our main agricultural producers and help us develop our land. Each animal on our farm has a role: 🦮 Dogs: Protect our land from bears, bobcats, and coyotes 🐔Chickens: Produce eggs, fertilize our beds, and keep our pests away 🦆 Ducks: Produce eggs, fertilize our beds, and keep our pond and water pests away 🐐Goats: Fertilize our fields, eat our trails, thin our abundant forest 🐖 Pigs: Eat our excess food waste, fertilize our fields, root our abundant forest Our animals are so important to us as they work hard for us and they are apart of our farm experience so please feel free to support our farm by coming by to feed them, socialize, and ask your farming questions! ⚡ Be our guest & grow with us… We welcomed our first guest in 2023 and the rest is history. We’ve welcomed guests of all ages and backgrounds with stories that have kept us motivated, allowed us to celebrate, evolve our approach, change our vision, and opened our hearts. All the questions, comments, and stories we’ve gotten from so many couples that ask us how to do what we’re doing. Those many conversations with young couples that want land, and space, and to share their passions but feel a little lost on how to start have really been a driving force. All these guests have held a large space within our hearts and kept us going. All that’s missing is you! We’re looking forward to entering the next chapter of our little woodsy farm and in 2025, we want to welcome you to enter a place that’s been waiting for you. We invite guests onto our land with acceptance and kindness always. This is a safe space that my wife and I found to be one of the first places we can freely hold hands without stares from anyone; well beside a deer or owl. This land is particularly important as I have autism and it provides me with an important sensory experience. We support you as you are. We invite you to the freedom of strolling this land owned by a loving couple who'd love to share our happiness and warmth with you today. We invite you as friends and hope you leave as family! Cheers, Jewel and Maile Wife & Wife Farmers 🐓 ABOUT BITTEN PINECONE CABIN 🐓 Welcome to the "Bitten Pinecone" off-grid camping cabin! This cabin is nestled in a canopy of trees while overlooking the river and with its whole front wall opening you’ll enjoy one of the most unique woodsy stays! “There’s something magical about the way this cabin greets you. Walking between the massive trees hugged by moss. My favorite part is when you hear the creak of the door opening as it reveals the cabin for the first time. Every time, I'm like wow! It’s so quaint and cozy!” Jewel, Owner of The Secret Land ⚡ Land Amenities → Amazing views of our scenic property → A cozy firepit with seating → Private beach & island access → Miles of picturesque trails → Lazy river with floaties ⚡Shared Amenities → Outdoor Shower Facilities (located near Fern Hot Tub) → Access to Two Shared Forest Hot Tubs ⚡Cabin Utility Amenities This is an off-grid cabin without WiFi. 😊 → 2025 Update: Solar Power at cabin → Propane heater for warmth → LED interior lights, solar outdoor lights, two flashlights, a lantern, and headlamps ⚡Cabin Extras → Indulge in our s'mores Bar, complete with giant marshmallows, graham...

A very cute unique place to stay! It was really relaxing with the river right out the door and tall mossy trees. A nice little recharge. Met some of the farm animals that came running up to us and we absolutely loved that. Stayed nice and warm even mid November without turning the heater on. We are big campers so this was a nice sorta glamping experience :)

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1st anniversary here. It being November, of course it rained and was dark upon check in. Although it was rainy, the cabin was so cozy and intimate that after we got dinner, we didnt care about the rain. The propane heater kept the cabin nice and toasty all night, along with the several layers of blankets that were provided. In the morning we enjoyed the view of the river from the cabin and the hot tub was a short walk too. We didnt see the towels provided, and the communication was propt and they even brought us extra towels, Thank you for that! We love camping and animals so this was the perfect over night getaway to celebrate this milestone. We LOVED that we could purchase apples to feed the pigs 🐖 the other animals were super sweet too. We ended our stay with some play time with the dogs. This was the perfect place to get outdoors but not be in a tent, in the rain. Thank you so much, we DEFINITELY reccomend. 😊

Bitten pinecone was super peaceful and cozy and exactly what we were looking for! The storm caused a power outage so hot tubs weren’t functioning which was a bummer, but other than that the stay was perfect. This was my partner and I’s 4th time on Jewel’s property, and we anticipate that there will be a 5th!

If you are thinking of booking this place, DO IT. The pictures do not do it justice. We went in the pouring rain and it was the most beautiful airbnb I have ever stayed in. So cozy and warm even in the cold. I can’t even imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer. Even the nicest camp bathroom! Every single detail was so well thought out. The hosts were so kind and responsive. The farm animals are the absolute cutest. The beach and property are so beautiful and the trails are well maintained. Such a magical spot. We will be returning as soon as possible.

I was looking for just a place to stay for one night, a hotel like stay. I didn't search for anything like what you have there. I called that in ❤️ My favorite place is the river and the woods 🪵 so to be able to see and here the river from the comfort of my warm comfy bed was amazing. Everything you provide, and the reasonable prices in the farm store made it so easy to enjoy nature without the stress of camping. The only thing I should have brought was better lighting for when the tree lights went out lol 😆. What an amazing break from the chaos, too to hear the birds and the river. You are changing people's lives and now I'm going out to change the world. I took a ton of pictures, I'm planning on telling everyone I know about your place.

This is the second time staying at the secret land and this magical place has grown. It’s so beautiful to witness the growing since a year ago when I first stayed. This is such a beautiful place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature and your true being of light. Such a beautiful space to connect with your beloved and truly be in each others magic. Bring some extra cash to get you some cute nick knacks from their store!!!!
